Independent Reviews That Show You What Your Customers Actually Experience

Most business owners know what they intend customers to experience. The difficult part is knowing what customers actually find, see, feel and do.

My two principal services provide an independent view of that experience. An Online & Digital Journey Review follows the journey from search and discovery through to trust and enquiry. An Insight Review examines the physical customer experience when someone visits or uses your business.

Both services identify strengths worth protecting, barriers that may be costing opportunities and practical improvements you can realistically implement.

01

Online & Digital Journey Reviews

Are potential customers choosing your business—or clicking away to a competitor?

Your next customer may decide whether to trust your business within seconds of finding you online.

A confusing website, an incomplete Google profile, unanswered reviews, inconsistent social media or a difficult enquiry process can quietly send potential customers elsewhere—without you ever knowing they visited.

An independent MGB Insights Online & Digital Journey Review follows the same journey as a genuine prospective customer. I examine how easily people can find you, what impression your online presence creates, whether they feel confident in your business and how straightforward it is to take the next step.

The aim is simple: identify what is working, uncover what may be losing you customers and give you practical, prioritised recommendations that can help turn more online visitors into genuine enquiries.

What you receive

A professional, independent review containing:

  • An assessment of the complete online customer journey
  • Clear evidence of what is working well
  • Problems, inconsistencies and customer barriers that may be costing enquiries
  • Website, Google, review and social-media observations
  • Relevant competitor comparisons
  • Prioritised recommendations based on importance and potential impact
  • Practical quick wins and longer-term improvements
  • A clear action plan showing what to address first
  • A personal follow-up discussion to explain the findings and answer questions

The report will be straightforward, constructive and designed for action—not filled with unnecessary technical language.

This is an independent customer-experience review—not a sales pitch for web design, SEO or social media management. I assess your online presence as a potential customer would and show you what may be helping or hindering their decision.

Why would your business benefit?

You know your business from the inside. Your customers only see what is presented to them online.

They do not see your experience, hard work or excellent service unless your digital presence communicates it clearly. If they encounter outdated information, weak first impressions, missing trust signals or a frustrating contact journey, they may simply choose another business.

This review helps you answer the questions that matter:

  • Can customers find your business online?
  • Do they understand what you offer within seconds?
  • Does your website make your business look credible and trustworthy?
  • Is it easy to contact you or request a quote?
  • Are your Google profile, reviews and social channels helping or harming confidence?
  • How do you compare with nearby competitors?
  • Where could potential enquiries and sales be slipping away?

What I review

Website first impressions

What does a first-time visitor think and feel within the opening few seconds? Is it immediately clear who you help, what you offer and why someone should choose you?

Customer journey and navigation

Can visitors quickly find the information they need, understand the next step and move easily from interest to enquiry?

Mobile and tablet experience

Does the website remain clear, professional and easy to use on the devices customers use most?

Calls to action and lead generation

Are visitors encouraged to call, enquire, book, buy or request a quote—or are they left unsure what to do next?

Google Business Profile

I review its accuracy, completeness, presentation, customer information, photographs, updates and ability to support local visibility.

Google reviews and online reputation

I assess the impression created by your ratings, customer comments, review responses and overall reputation.

Facebook presence

Where relevant, I examine Facebook for consistency, activity, professionalism, trust and alignment with your website.

Instagram presence

Where relevant, I examine Instagram for consistency, activity, professionalism, trust and alignment with your website.

LinkedIn presence

Where relevant, I examine LinkedIn for consistency, activity, professionalism, trust and alignment with your website.

Contact and enquiry journey

I test how easy it is for a prospective customer to make contact, including forms, telephone details, email links and the clarity of the enquiry process. Any live test enquiry will only be carried out if agreed in advance.

Trust and credibility

I look for the evidence customers need before choosing you, including testimonials, case studies, guarantees, qualifications, team information, policies and clear contact details.

Search and AI discoverability

I assess how clearly your website explains your services, location, expertise and relevance to people using traditional search engines and newer AI-assisted searches.

Competitor benchmarking

I compare your digital customer journey with relevant local competitors to identify gaps, strengths and realistic opportunities to stand out.

Report and action plan

Everything is brought together in a clear, prioritised report with practical quick wins and longer-term improvements—written for a business owner, not a consultant.

Insight Reviews

Your Customers Notice More Than You Think. Let's See What They See.

What happens when a real customer walks through your door? They notice the welcome, the atmosphere, the standards, the service and all the small details that influence whether they buy, spend more, recommend you — or quietly choose somewhere else.

My Insight Review gives you an honest, independent view of your business through your customers' eyes. I physically visit your business, experience the customer journey for myself and identify what is working well, what may be costing you customers and where practical improvements could make a genuine commercial difference. No jargon. No generic checklist. Just clear evidence, honest insight and affordable recommendations tailored to your business.

What I do

I personally visit your business as an observer and potential customer, looking at the complete experience from arrival to departure. Depending on your business and the agreed scope, I review:

  • First impressions, accessibility and appearance
  • The welcome and initial customer contact
  • Service standards and consistency
  • Staff engagement and customer communication
  • Cleanliness, presentation and the physical environment
  • How effectively products or services are explained and promoted
  • Opportunities to increase enquiries, sales or customer spending
  • Whether the experience matches your website, marketing and brand promise
  • The reasons customers may return, recommend you — or go elsewhere

I look beyond the obvious and join the dots between what your business intends to deliver and what customers actually experience.

Why invest in an Insight Review?

When you are busy running a business every day, it can be difficult to see it as a new customer does. Small issues can become familiar and missed opportunities can remain unnoticed. Customers may not complain — they simply leave, spend less or choose a competitor next time. An Insight Review helps you:

  • Understand what customers genuinely experience
  • Protect and strengthen your reputation
  • Improve customer confidence and loyalty
  • Convert more visits and enquiries into sales
  • Identify ethical opportunities for customers to spend more
  • Recognise what your team already does well
  • Fix avoidable frustrations before they cost you business
  • Make better decisions using independent evidence

This is not about finding fault or catching people out. It is about recognising strengths, uncovering opportunities and helping your business become even better.

Who is it for?

Insight Reviews are designed for ambitious local business owners, managing directors and leadership teams who care about their customers and know there is always room to improve. They are particularly valuable for:

  • Cafés, restaurants, pubs and hotels
  • Retailers and visitor attractions
  • Estate agents and automotive businesses
  • Healthcare and wellbeing providers
  • Leisure businesses
  • Professional service firms
  • Other organisations where customer experience directly affects reputation, recommendations and revenue

Every review is tailored to your business, your customers and your priorities. You will never receive a recycled or one-size-fits-all report.

What you receive

Following the physical visit, you receive:

  • A clear, professionally written Insight Review report
  • An honest assessment of the complete customer experience
  • Recognition of the strengths worth protecting and building upon
  • Evidence of customer frustrations, inconsistencies and missed opportunities
  • Practical, prioritised recommendations
  • Quick wins that can be acted upon immediately
  • Longer-term opportunities to improve performance and growth
  • A personal debrief with me to discuss the findings and next steps

Everything is written in straightforward business language and focused on actions you can realistically take.

What does success look like?

Success means having a clearer understanding of your business and a practical plan to make it stronger. It could mean a warmer welcome, more confident staff, better presentation, increased customer spending, more repeat visits, stronger recommendations or fewer customers being lost to competitors. Not every improvement needs a large budget. Often, it is the small changes — identified by a fresh and experienced pair of eyes — that make the biggest difference.

Local, personal and affordable

Every Insight Review is completed personally by me, Gary Brooks. I bring more than 30 years of operational, customer-facing and workplace experience, combined with a straightforward understanding of how real businesses work. I am independent, local to the East Midlands and committed to providing honest, ethical and affordable support. The scope and price are agreed clearly before any work begins, so there are no hidden costs or unnecessary extras.

Are You Ready to See Your Business Through Your Customers' Eyes?

Your customers already have an opinion of their experience. An Insight Review helps you understand that experience — and turn what I uncover into practical improvements for your business.

How an Online & Digital Journey Review Works

Potential customers may find your business online but leave without getting in touch — because the website is confusing, important information is missing, pages are difficult to use on a phone, enquiry routes don't work smoothly, or competitors appear more convincing.

These hidden problems could be quietly costing your business enquiries, sales and revenue without you realising it. Here is how I find them.

01

Free Discovery Call

Gary takes time to learn about your business, your customers and where enquiries or sales may be getting lost — before any review begins.

02

MGB Insights reviews your business from an outside customer's perspective — across Google search, your website, mobile experience, social media and your enquiry or booking journey.

04

How an Independent Insight Review Works

Business owners cannot always see what their customers experience. Poor first impressions, inconsistent service, unclear communication, waiting times, missed sales opportunities or small problems in the customer environment may be driving customers away — while competitors benefit.

An independent review gives you an honest, outside perspective on what is really happening when you are not there to see it.

01

Free Discovery Call

Gary takes time to understand your business and agrees with you which parts of the customer experience you would like independently reviewed — before anything else begins.

02

Real Customer Experience

MGB Insights visits or contacts your business as a genuine customer would — observing the journey from first impression and welcome through to service, communication and follow-up.

03

Independent Findings

Gary identifies what your business does well, what customers may notice that staff or owners could miss, and where problems may be affecting trust, loyalty, recommendations and revenue.

04

Practical Action Report

You receive a confidential, evidence-based report containing strengths, improvement opportunities, quick wins and clear recommendations — followed by a personal debrief with Gary to walk through everything.

The review is independent, constructive and designed to help your business improve — not to catch employees out or apportion blame.

Discover what customers experience when you are not there to see it.

Additional Services

MGB Insights also provides Workplace Relations & Resolution Support and the Business Intelligence Hub for businesses requiring wider independent support.

How an engagement works

Simple. Personal. No obligation to start. Every MGB Insights engagement begins with a free conversation with Gary. You do not need to know which service you need — tell me about your business, what you are trying to understand or the problem you are facing. I will listen, ask the right questions and explain where MGB Insights could help. If I do not think I am the right person to help, I will tell you.

01

Let's talk

Your first conversation is always free. We start with a friendly, no-obligation conversation about your business — whether you want to improve customer experience, understand what your customers really receive, keep a closer eye on competitors or deal with a workplace issue. No sales pressure. No commitment. Just a conversation.

02

I recommend the right approach

If Gary believes MGB Insights can add value, he will recommend the most appropriate approach from one or a combination of the four services: Insight Reviews — understand what is working, what is being missed and where your business could improve. Online & Digital Journey Reviews — an independent assessment of your complete online customer journey. Workplace Relations — practical help to prevent and resolve workplace issues. Business Intelligence Hub — keep track of competitors, reviews, changes, risks and opportunities. You will know what will be done, what you will receive, how long it will take and what it will cost before you decide whether to proceed.

03

I do the work

I personally carry out the agreed work. That could mean visiting your business, experiencing your customer journey, reviewing your online presence, researching competitors, building your Intelligence Hub or helping you understand and address a workplace issue. I look beyond the obvious, join the dots and focus on information that can genuinely help you make better decisions.

04

You get something useful

Clear findings. Practical actions. No jargon. The outcome depends on the service — because not every business needs another lengthy report. You could receive an Insight Review report, an Online & Digital Journey Review, a live Business Intelligence Hub, a practical action plan or workplace recommendations. Most importantly, I will explain what I found, why it matters and what I believe you should do next. Where appropriate, we will finish with a personal debrief so you can ask questions and discuss the priorities.

Not sure which service is right for you?

You don't need to be. Tell Gary what's happening in your business and he'll listen, ask the right questions and tell you honestly whether MGB Insights can help.
